Holiday in a tipi
Tipi at the forest edge
The word tipi (also called tepee or teepee) comes from the Indian language of Lakota. It is a conical tent that, unlike a wigwam, is not covered with tree bark but with animal skins or canvas and can be set up and broken down quickly. This type of Indian tent was traditionally used by the nomadic prairie Indians on the Great Plains.
Our original tipi from America consist of a frame of straight sticks made of douglas. A cotton canvas is stretched around it. The tipi has a high, painted cotton inner cloth and a canvas door. At the top is a smoke hole, with two smoke flaps. You can set this with sticks and lines, depending on the wind direction. A fire can be made in the middle of the tent. If it is windy or raining you can close the flaps.
Staying in a tipi is a special experience. It brings you close to nature. You can hear the birds sing, the wind rushing through the trees and croaking frogs in the pond. At night you look straight through the smoke hole at the starry sky. The tipi is tastefully decorated with painted cupboards, colorful carpets, sheepskins and pillows. You can fall asleep staring at the fire from your warm bed. Staying in a tipi is cozy, comfortable and adventurous.
The tipi tent has a diameter of 6 meters and is suitable for 4 people. There are four single beds in it. The tents are equipped with a small kitchen with a two-burner gas stove. There are pans, plates, and other kitchen gear in the tent. There is also a cool box, electricity and lighting in the tipi.
The tipi has its own water tap, campfire place, outside table and hammock.
Well cared for showers, toilets, dishwashing areas, freezer etc. are nearby.
